A bird reported flying east over Kippford this morning.

Mid-pm, spotted the WTE poking it's head above what must either be a lower ground level or water channel. Immediately opposite the bench at Browhouses. Later seen nearer to the M6 motorway , on the ground, taking flight & circling. Clearly hunting as attacking geese on the ground. It found a sick or injured bird, landed on it & began to pluck & eat it.

3 Gadwall & Snipe at Cally Park. 30 Comm Scoter off Castle Point, + 2 Chiffchaff in subsong with pair Peregrine hunting waders HT. 4 Greenshank, 3 Sanderling, 6 Sandwich Tern, Stonechat, 2 Rock Pipit, 2 Sparrowhawk & Peregrine at Stairhaven,

26th. 18:43-19:23 Estimated total of 5600 Pink-footed Geese and a skein of approx 1200 Barnacle Geese moved south out of Dumfries & Galloway to roost on Solway Firth between River Esk & River Eden. Guillemot, 1 initially close in to Dumfries side of River Esk, Little Egret 5 feeding then flew west, Gadwal 6, Wigeon 49, Pintail 1, Teal 34, Goosander 6, Oystercatcher 7, Lapwing 230, Curlew 5, Redshank 13.

Knot on the Loch Ryan mud-flats. Drummore, 5 Med Gull (3 adults & 2 1st-w), 2 Bar-tailed Godwit, 4 Greenshank, 1 Black Guillemot, 2 Rock Pipit. 2 RTD, 7 bartail, 6 Black Guillemot, 2 Sandwich Tern, 3 Rock Pipit at The Wig with a Ruff & Black-tailed Godwit. Chapel Rossan Bay, Peregrine, 2 Med Gull (1st-wt & adult) 2 Sandwich Tern, Greenshank, Sanderling, 3 Black Guillemot, Grey Wagtail. WWT Caerlaverock, 2 Marsh Harrier & 3 Sand Martin.

Garganey still at RSPB Crook of Baldoon & at Browhouses 7am, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper reported but no further update.

A bird on the roam but reports suggest it was on the English side from Browhouses. However, reported this morning to be on Scottish side 😁👍

An early Jack Snipe flushed whilst topping. Also two Blackwit on lagoon this morning. Ivan Lang.

The resident Black Swan present. Also a Dabchick, several Mistle Thrush on berries, couple of Stonechat, flocks of Med Pipit & Jay in the area.

In this field, were 9 possibly 10 Buzzard & 1 Red Kite all on the ground & spread quite evenly! Never seen such a spectacle. They didn't move really, as if gathered for a worm hunt. A couple of hours at Corsewall Point good movement of Gannet, Kittiwake and Auks. Highlights 2 Leach's and 1 European Storm Petrol and a Great Skua. Ivan Lang. 

Barnkirk Pt. Midway between the point and the steelworks. Also Bar Tailed Godwit (5) and 7/8 Greenshank this morning, tide well on the ebb. Bill Jamieson.

Browhouses, 8 Gadwall, 5 Snipe. Wigtown Harbour hide, a Kingfisher. Brighouse Bay, a couple of Rock Pipit. Off the Mull of Galloway, a Manx Shearwater & 2 Great Skua.

Ringtail HH quartering the scrub betwixt Saltcot & Avenue Tower hides. ♂️♀️ Marsh Harrier too.

A bird reported off Portpatrick 17th. Today a Storm Petrel off Isle of Whithorn. Dumfries 18th, around the Kingholm Quay area, 2 Barn Owl, a GWE & 72 Goosander.

Barnacle Goose or geese at WWT Caerlaverock or anywhere are surely the feral Linlithgow flock. Stonechat & Rock Dove at the Mull (latter may not be pure species in D&G). GWE & Marsh Harrier at WWT. Kingfisher, Dipper & Grey Wagtail on the Annan, Peregrine at Grey Mare's Tail & 40 Sandwich Tern at Luce Sands, Luce Bay.

For a 2nd day 🙄😖😔, a bird running around fields back of the Wig spit, Loch Ryan. Reported towards the end of the 2nd day?? Dear oh dear. 

RSPB Crook of Baldoon. Seems legit. A bird seen on the merse flash before moving to the shoreline. Some back & forthing, hopefully not due to birder pressure. 

4 birds reported from around the Birkshaw Forest area, SE of Eskrigg LNR. A Willow Tit seen by a lucky observer along the Dee at Threave NTS.
