WeBS : Carsethorn to Borron Pt
Last ditch survey again but better late... Bit of a surprise to find half dozen Whimbrel on the foreshore. Ditto 4 Bar-tailed Godwit. Unusual was a single Common Sandpiper but given the numbers in Carse Gut today, not so. An Osprey was eating a fish on offshore mudflats. 3 Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank. 3 flying-in juv Greenshank was pleasing as I got good view of them just off Hogus Pt. Single Little Egret & Mallard & another surprise, a black armpitted Grey Plover dropped in. Hopping on one leg suggested possible injury. So, a bit of a hint of winter in the mix on the last day of June! PJ
