3 day trip

Tuesday 12th July 2022 : Glenlochar ; Kingfisher, Grey Heron, Swallows, Sand Martins, Blackcap + Herring Gull caught a fish. Laghead Farm, just a couple of fields past the parking for Loch Whinyeon, in field on the right, cut for silage, top left of field not yet cut - a Corncrake calling from 1420 to 1430.  Also Stonechat & Whinchat. (Does the farmer know something!). Approach to Gatehouse of Fleet an Osprey over & Common Gull. Crook of Baldoon, Little Grebe, 2 Little Egrets, Mute Swan with young, Swallows & Sand Martins.

 

Wednesday 13th July, Trip to the Mull of Galloway : Terally Bay ; Sandwich Terns, Gannets, Kittiwakes & Cormorants. The Mull, managed to pick out 1 Puffin, Guillemots, Black Guillemots, Razorbill, Fulmar, Gannets, Shags, Kittiwakes - having a good breeding season here. On the Headland, Stonechat & Wheatear. Auchenmalg, Peregrine Falcon.

 

Thursday 14th July : Carsluith ; 9 Common Sandpipers, Ringed Plover, Curlews, Oystercatchers & Shelduck.
