RSPB Crook of Baldoon

Falling tide. Buzzard (3+), Red Kite (4+) attended a carcass out on the merse. Peregrine, Merlin & Sparrowhawk also seen but no harriers. Best waders for me were c300 Golden Plover & a couple of Black-tailed Godwit. Water Rail squealing from the southern lagoon. Several hundred Barnacle & Pink-footed Geese in the air near Wigtown harbour. On the -ve side, a gang of probable wildfowlers gathered at the car-park towards dusk as I was leaving. Nigel Willits.
