6 Greenland White-fronted Goose seen around Threave Castle today. 

1 seen on the merse from Scar Point at Caerlaverock NNR. 

Great White Egret 1520 yesterday on the mud in front of Cassencrrie Scar nets, Creetown with 8 Little Egrets and a Grey Heron. Catherine McEwan.

126 at West Freugh Airfield today & I'm wondering if these are the same birds reported at Castle Kennedy 🤔 

124 GWF came to roost this evening some landed on White Loch and about 50 went to Black Loch. Ivan Lang.

Female type Black Redstart briefly around the farm buildings early afternoon being chased by local Robins, not seen since. Gavin Chambers. 

1 in the SE corner of Castle Loch today. 

Bill Jamieson has snapped this at Barnkirk Point today. Muscovy Duck.  "and it did challenge my ID skills for a bit"! 

One Great White Egret flew west over Mains of Duchrae, Loch Ken at about 10.40am, perhaps heading for Woodhall Loch. At 10.50am there was one on the loch side at Crossmichael (viewed from west side of loch). Later at Threave I spoke with a volunteer who said one had been there around 10.45am and that there had been at least 2 on site in the last few weeks. Gavin Chambers.

Female-type Hen Harrier and 2 or 3 males. Pair of Raven at a large bird carcass (perhaps goose?). Lots of Pink-feet but didn't spot any White-fronts. Nigel Willits.

5 Pochard were the highlight at Loch Connell this morning 24th. Four drake and a duck. E.Grover.

I've got a small women's Country Innovation mid-green coat available. It's hardly worn with some visible signs of wear on the inside only. Though there is an odd small insignificant mark on the outer. These are really good coats, I've worn one for many years during colder autumn through to spring days. 4 Green Sandpiper on the river Annan at Upper Brydekirk today, feeding with 5 Common Snipe. Not the first time I've noted this as they seem to share a liking for the same favoured spots. Also Common Sandpiper remains at Mein Water with a single Redshank. Bill Jamieson. 

2 birds seen on the saltmarsh at WWT Caerlaverock.

400 Scaup from Innermessan, Loch Ryan. 120+ Greenland White-fronts at south end of West Freugh Airfield.

9th. Adult Mediterranean Gull currently drifting in with the tide at Carsethorn. Gavin Chambers. 

One still around Carsethorn this morning. Some cooler weather this week might give it the idea to leave soon! Gavin Chambers. 

One also seen at the Mull of Galloway around Foxes Rattle, though at the base of cliffs. Steady passage of some autumn migrants too. Gavin Chambers.

2 female/1st w Black Redstart at Newbie Barns 0830 this am. Inside Glaxo fence and on boulders by shore. Ian Irving.  Ed. Pity I'm not around to see them! Typical. 

Bird still at RSPB Mersehead seen from Meida hide. 

Nice to see a flock of 53 Black-tailed Godwit feeding on the mud off the Steamboat and amazed to count 1615 Pintail feeding distantly on the edge of an inlet as the tide turned. Gavin Chambers. 

Bird remains at Newbie Barns,. Adult female showing well among the boulders opposite the Glaxo security fence. Also noted, Greenfinch, a single Greenshank and a decent sized flock of Fieldfare. Bill Jamieson. 

Loch Ryan. Despite the grim weather there was lots showing at Bishop Burn with the highlight being a pair of Long-tailed Duck & lots of Scaup quite close in. Due to the low tide lots of waders present including Ringed Plover, Turnstone & a Bar-tailed Godwit. Other duck included Wigeon, Goldeneye & a few Pintail. There was also a single Med Gull. The Wig; Visibility was next to nothing struggled to see anything. A half dozen Eider, a couple of Common Scoter and a single Red-throated Diver. Corsewell Point only had a couple of Guillemot and 3 GND. Ivan Lang. 

Hundreds of Redwing, 50 Fieldfare, single male Brambling at Anwoth, nr Gatehouse of Fleet today. Ian Bainbridge. 

Bill Jamieson reports; Solway coast Newbie. A bird hawking about on the Glaxo security fence this afternoon, 200 yards down the path from the Newbie Barns car park. Also had a run over to the Greenshank high tide roost on the river opposite the steel works. After a consistent count of 24/27 birds most of the autumn, not a single bird remains, (been steadily falling from mid-October).

Ian Carter reported one in the dunes at Mersehead for yesterday, 6th.

A GWE and a couple of Greenshank in the murk at Wigtown harbour this afternoon. No sign of Cetti's. Nigel Willits. 

Small flocks of Fieldfare this morning. Gorging on the berries in the avenues. Single Redwing spotted among them though probably more about. Robbie Purdie.

25 reported overflying Fountainbleau Ladypark NR. 

A bird singing from the reedbed to the right of the road to car park. Possibly the bird from the Crook of Baldoon last week. Ivan Lang.

A good selection on the reserve today with a mixed flock of Fieldfare, Redwing & Chaffinch with a lone Brambling. Over 30 Little Egret across the merse and lagoon, were joined by a Great White Egret showing well briefly. A single White-front with a small group of Pinks. A male Hen Harrier hunting the Marsh with a flock of 40 Twite. Ivan Lang. 

A walking against the tide bird just now in Carse Gut, Carsethorn. Also 1 Greenshank, 9 Black-tailed & 15 Bar-tailed Godwit, I think! Fading light. PJ.

An uncharitable bird flew west at the Isle of Whithorn this morning. 

31st. 2 Great White Egrets. Also 2 Peregrine Falcon resting and preening on two separate fence posts on the merse about 1km apart. All seen from Saltcot Observatory Tower hide midday. Robbie Purdie.
