Short walk from the bridge to Cochranes Boilers. Lots of red admiral and a few whites plus speckled wood. Loafing gulls c700, mostly Black-headed. 2 Little Grebe, Goosander, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Common Sandpiper, 12 Greenshank, a Wigeon, 1 Sparrowhawk and plenty mixed hirundine. A friendly male southern hawker if I'm not mistaken, along the path near the bench before Newbie village and the factory.  south_hawker_9.9.25.jpg PJ
